RealWear - NTT Group

NTT Group, the largest telecom in Japan, is working with Hokuren, a major agricultural cooperative, to develop and implement new technology such as robotics, 5G, AI, IoT, etc.

5G and RealWear's wearable computer is being used to share live footage of cattle to experts and pharmaceutical companies.

Summary:

The Hokuren Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives in Hokkaido is promoting a smart agriculture demonstration project through an industry-academia-government collaboration of seven organizations, including NTT Group. The biggest challenge is the shortage of farmers, particularly in dairy farming. To ensure the sustainability of agriculture, it is necessary to increase the number of new farmers, but this requires past experience, achievements, and knowledge. Technology holds the key to solving this problem, as it can be used to reduce labor and reduce the risk of new farmers entering the farming industry. 

NTT Group is working with the Hokuren Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives (Hokuren) to make agriculture smarter at the Kunshifu Demonstration Farm, which was established in 1963 as a livestock breeding farm and now houses training facilities and is used to support producers and agriculture in Hokkaido. Smart farming through digital technology is essential for the sustainable growth of Hokkaido's agriculture.
